Spring Entertaining Ideas
Springtime always seems like the perfect excuse for us to dust off the good china, wash down the patio furniture, tend to the garden and invite some of your closest friends over for a cocktail and good food. So, if you’re looking for an excuse to celebrate the good weather and sunshine, we have a few Spring entertaining ideas up our sleeves.
Throw a Cinco de Mayo Party
While we are pretty close to the border, we aren’t quite south of it. But that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate like we are! The Cinco de Mayo holiday doesn’t need to be all tequila shots and margaritas like it was in your youth – it can be a fun excuse to have a quiet gathering with friends. And what better reason to have a party than TACOS?!
Put together a quick and easy make-your-own-taco bar and have premade margaritas mixes on hand for a party that doesn’t require you to be off in the kitchen away from the fun. Spice things up with a guacamole making competition or a piñata filled with candy.
Put Together a Potting Party
It’s the time of year when most homeowners are tending to their yards and bringing the green inside with some potted plants. But who wants to do that without some company? Throw a gardening party and teach your friends how to pot their own plants or create a terrarium. You could bring out their creative side and provide paints and brushes for your guests to decorate their pots before planting in them.
Enjoy some garden-themed beverages like a rosemary lemonade or a cucumber mojito. And serve up veggies, fruits and finger sandwiches that will be refreshing and easy to eat while your guests get their gardening on!
Bring the Ballpark to the Living Room
Just because your favorite baseball team is playing an away game this weekend doesn’t mean you can’t bring the excitement of the ballpark to your own living room. Invite all your favorite baseball enthusiasts over for a baseball viewing party.
Set up all the favorite ballpark foods – like hot dogs and nachos – for your guests to graze on during the game. Encourage your fans to dress up in their favorite gear and take bets on who will win the big game!
Host an Adult Egg Hunt
Easter egg hunts aren’t just for the kids anymore. Have your friends over for an adult egg hunt. Serve all the spring time favorites (did someone say bunny cake and deviled eggs?) and encourage guests to wear their Easter best. Instead of candy, fill the eggs with treats for the adults. Eggs filled with movie tickets, lotto scratch offs, dollar bills, beauty product samples, and spirit minis are all great ideas for your friends wanting to take a little trip down memory lane to their childhood.
This spring is your perfect excuse to start entertaining again! So roll up your sleeves and get party planning!
